The exhibition and exchange of plants in the door and front of Lerchundi Cultural Center was one of the activities organized by the Order of fFriars Minor Justice, Peace Integrity of Creation in Larache, Morocco animated by Friar Melito Pinili, O.F.M., to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the issuance of the Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si- Our Common Home” on May 24, 2015. He declared the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation form September 1, 2020 to October 3, 2020. After this month of celebration, the exhibition continues everyday from 5:00PM-9:00PM.

It is not only to remember the issuance of this document- Laudato Si but also to make awareness that we have to take care of creation, our common home which is Mother Earth. Mother Earth is crying as well as the poor people. The destruction of Mother Earth will be the extinction of humanity and the most affected are the poor.

The exhibition and exchange of plants makes people connected and builds friendship among plants and flowers lovers. The plants give a sense of amazement and appreciate the beauty of God’s creatures. It point out about the beauty of the Creator.

More than two hundred people view the exhibition of the plants; many gave donations and exchange of plants. There were three people who gave different varieties of plants. Saida and family gave ten kinds of indoor and outdoor plants while Sube also Moroccan shared six varieties of cacti. Ibrahim gave eight varieties of plants.   Eleven viewers of the exhibit become interested in attending the ecological formation seminar to be conducted on October 2020 to December 2020. More than ten people want to become “Ecological Volunteers”.

I feel very happy about the response and the interest shown by the people of Larache in this exhibition and exchange of plants, known many Larachenos. Lastly, I would say Larache is my home, our common home.
