As part of the fortieth anniversary of the signing of the “Cartagena Declaration” (1984), one of the most important legal instruments of recent decades in terms of protection and solutions in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Embassy of Chile to the Holy See has organized a conference to give a voice to refugees and displaced people. On Tuesday the 2nd July 2024, at the Palace of San Calixto, together with several Catholic organizations, such as the Jesuit Refugee Service and Caritas International, they addressed the challenges of the migratory context and formulated recommendations for governments in the development of the Action Plan of Chile 2024-2034.
From Friday the 14th to Sunday the 16th June 2024 the Chapter of the Mats was held in Taranto, entitled “A sea of fraternity. The Franciscans for a new humanism of the Mediterranean”, in which friars, Poor Clares and lay people belonging to the Franciscan family participated.

The General Office of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) and the Pontifical Antonianum University (PUA) of Rome held the annual course for JPIC animators of the Franciscan Family from the 20th to 26th May 2024.
On Sunday, the 12th May, the meeting of the Franciscan family that gathered in Marrakech, Morocco, to address the issue of migration in the Mediterranean concluded.
On behalf of the JPIC General Office, Br. Taucen Girsang visited the Province of St Francis Herald of Peace in West Papua-Indonesia, from 20-29 April 2024, to listen and to exchange experiences with the friars regarding JPIC activities.
After the gathering of the Franciscan Conferences of Asia and Oceania in Manila, Philippines, Br. Taucen Girsang and Br. Daniel Rodriguez Blanco from the General Office for JPIC Office spent 14-18 April 2024 in Seoul visiting the Province of the Holy Martyrs of Korea.
On Saturday, the 11th May, the second day of the meeting of the Franciscan family gathered at the friary of the Holy Martyrs of Morocco in the city of Marrakech.
