In 2017, a number of JPIC animators in Rome from different Congregations formed a network called The West Papua Network. This was to respond to the call to defend the human rights of the West Papuan people. The JPIC General Office is part of the network, and its aim is to assist local Religious Congregations to hold regular courses on human rights and interculturality.
