We share the request for help that we received from the brothers of the Province of St. Hedwig, in Poland, following the devastating flood that occurred in recent days.
Pax et Bonum!
In recent days, towns in Lower Silesia and the Opole region have suffered a great tragedy because of flood. Many people have been affected and have lost the work of their lives, including our Franciscan brothers from the St. Hedwig Province.
We want to extend a helping hand to those affected by the flood, and we are now recruiting for the Franciscan Volunteer Service “Brothers to Brothers.”
Volunteer Location: Kłodzko
Due to the crisis and challenging conditions, we are looking for individuals who are:
- over 18 years old,
- responsible,
- willing to directly help those affected,
- unafraid of challenges, physical work, and teamwork.
Volunteer duties include:
- helping with cleaning tasks,
- clearing mud from buildings,
- removing plaster,
- general labor,
- logistical support,
- other tasks are based on the needs of the residents.
We provide volunteers with:
- accommodation,
- meals,
- insurance,
- a volunteer agreement,
- transportation to the areas where assistance will take place,
- tools and equipment necessary for the work.
We kindly ask that each volunteer bring at least two sets of work clothes and water-resistant footwear (preferably rubber boots).
